Teaching Health Centers

The Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education (GME) program began as a $230 million, 5-year initiative created by the Affordable Care Act of 2010 to increase the number of primary care residents and dentists trained in community-based settings.

No Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education grant competition is planned for FY 2016 or FY 2017.

STAR² Center - (Solutions Training and Assistance for Recruitment and Retention)

This is your one-stop shop for toolkits, manuals, best practices, and other resources related to clinician recruitment and retention. The STAR² Center offers regional trainings designed to help health centers assess and address their clinician workforce challenges. Individualized Technical Assistance (TA) is available for health centers who would like to discuss their recruitment and retention challenges.
